Many people are without angels - if you are having surgery and would like an angel, feel free to have a look at the list of volunteers and ask one of them or ask anyone you feel comfortable with!

Ok I can't be the only one wondering but what is an angel?  I see people have as part of signatures who thier angel is but if someone could explain it to me.  Is is something like a sponser in a 12 step program?

Sorta, but no.

An angel is someone *****ports back to us on the forum when you have surgery to let everyone know how you're doing.  Also, an angel can be somewhat of a "mentor", offering personal support, guidance, and a shoulder to lean on.  It doesn't have to be someone who lives close to you, just someone you feel would offer you support and friendship and have "clicked" with here on the forum.

The 12 step thing came to mind as the counsellor I was seeing suggested a support group of some sort since this is a food addiction.  Someone to talk with that would understand the struggle with food.
Unfortunately I live in a rural area and work afternoons so most of the groups I see on here won't work.
