Northern Health Travel Grant - its for people who live in northern Ontario and it covers the travel costs for having to travel over a certain distance to get medical treatment from a specialist. 

Holiday Inn Express is close to the hospital and their rate - for patients going to HRRH is $102.00 per night.

You are eligible for a travel grant if:

• you are an OHIP insured Ontario resident on the date of treatment, and your primary place of residence is in the districts of Algoma, Cochrane, Kenora, Manitoulin, Ni******g, Parry Sound, Rainy River, Sudbury, Timiskaming or Thunder Bay;
• you are referred for specialty health care that is an insured service under the Health Insurance Act;
• a northern physician, dentist, optometrist, chiropractor, midwife or nurse practitioner has referred you before the travel takes place;
• you are referred to a medical specialist who is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or a Winnipeg (Manitoba) physician enrolled on the Manitoba Health Specialist Register and permitted to bill as a specialist; or you are referred to a physician who holds a specialist certificate of registration issued by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) in a recognized medical or surgical specialty other than family or general practice; and
• the nearest specialist/designated health care facility able to provide the type of care you require in Ontario or Manitoba is at least 100 kilometres from your area of residence.

if you're up to it, you can park at the mall that's two blocks from the hospital and walk over. That being said, before i had surgery, i paid the 15 for parking. Post surgery, i saves my moneys and does the walking.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn across the street.  I just had my surgery on Wednesday and they charge 102 a night if you tell them you are a patient at Humber.  After surgery we made a very short drive north up Jane street and stayed at the swanky and brand new Novotel for $89 a night (promotional price...i think they average around 129/night).  It made the Holiday Inn across from Humber look like a total dump!
