Good morning....

I have a confession to make.
Although I have been reading here everyday, I have not been writing on here as usual.

During the summer months, we wear clothes that are short sleeved and shorts.
In the last few weeks, while I have been wearing these clothes,I have had a few comments that have really bothered me.....
I'm too skinny and I look anorexic.

This really made me think...and re asses my weight and how I look.

I'm tiny, I wear a size zero and XS or smaller and I'm 5'1" at 111 lbs
Now in the books my BMI is fine but.....and this I think of often....your bone mass increases to accommodate your heavy weight so mine is no different.
I think, if I was to take this into account, my BMI would be lower.
Therefore I look smaller than my 111.

My son even asked me if I was sick and that I needed to put some more weight back on.

So that is what I have been doing so my eating has not been something I want to post here.
I'm eating more carbs, more fruit and more protein.

I have put on 4 lbs and I still feel excellent.
So because I'm not eating to maintain or loose, I feel embarassed to post.

I only want to gain another 6lbs or so and then see what I feel like then.
I will still be healthy as that is my #1 priority.

I will continue to read but if you don't see my posts, be sure I'm still looking from the background.

Judy,

I'm really glad to see you posting - I've missed you on the thread.

First, I am really glad that you're having a look at your weight and being proactive to achieve "WELL".  That's most important.

Second, that shouldn't stop you from participating in the thread.  Perhaps what we need to do is individiually state what our "eating goal" is.

For example, mine would start like this:

RNY (Maintenance, hoping to lose a few):

B - coffee

etc, etc, etc.

There may be others in your position who just aren't posting about it.  Anyway, just a thought.  You have my complete support - and I really have missed you!  xo

Oh Judy -

I am so sorry that you're worrying about your weight from a different direction now.

(Isn't it stupid, how this stuff takes over our lives?)

Please don't ever feel like we can't identify with you - your metabolism is obviously in disarray, and it shouldn't matter to us whether it lack of nutrition or whatever else causing it.

You should always get support and encouragement here.

There are so many reasons you may be getting too thin, and some may be seriously medical.
So you're absolutely right to see this as a health issue - I hope your healthcare provider takes it seriously as well.

Tkae good care, okay?

Hi Judy

I think this is an important subject and one we all have to deal with at some point. We are so used to obsessing about our weight and now we are no different then when SMO.

BALANCE - so improtant and so difficult to achieve.....

I run anywhere from 180 - 190....some weeks up and some weeks down.....still in the overweight category....but if you saw me I think I look pretty good ( Karen please chime in here as you have seen me recently - I can take it if you think I am delusional...lol)

It truly is how you feel - do you feel strong?

Dr Anvari told me at my one year to eat EVERYTHING - and I do....in moderation of course....because balance is so important in life
By eating everything we keep our bodies regular....and I dont mean overeating carbs or sweets etc....but not eliminating them entirely when we have reached our goal.... I still think you should limit them when losing..

Eating all food groups in my opinion is good for body and mind....again - when at goal....

so if you feel healthy at 111 - then I would'nt worry about what others say.....we arent going to look perfect because of the damage we did to our skin etc while SMO

So I am rambling now....but I am sure you get the gist....its a personal thing and one we each have to figure out on our own....WHAT FEELS RIGHT FOR US.

Take care

barb

*laughs*

You are not delusional at all - you're looking fabulous!  And I would have said 170, so you're carrying it with grace!

Thanks ladies....

I really appreciate your support and please know that my weight and health are my utmost priority.
All of my tests and blood work is right on.
My Dr is very happy with my weight loss and says it is totally up to me how I feel.

My body reacted very well to this surgery and I can easily lose the weight if I gain any......I'm a dumper and I guess this is a good thing and a bad thing....but I manage it well....and don't abuse it.

I feel fine at this weight but I do agree to a certain extent that I do have a boyish figure.
None of those girlie lumps and bumps ( the good ones!)

Yes ,since I have lost the weight things are not hanging where they should, but I'm also not in my 20"s anymore.
I mean if I gain weight, there still will not be a 20 year old under here....he he

I just thought that maybe there was something to what these friends said because it was different people, different cir****tances and different times.

If I feel as though it's not right or I'm very uncomfortable, I ll definitely look at things again.

Karen I will continue to post again and please don't modify just for me......I'm not special...just re-adjusting things....

Thanks again ladies

You most certainly are special.  So there.

Actually, I've been thinking we should be adding that anyway - new people may be confused at what some of us are eating/can eat.

Hugs to you! xo
