what a surprise!

As many of you know, I recently lost my youngest son to sudden death by pulmonary embolism (blood clot to lungs) and the funeral/memorial service was Thursday. Since I had lost a fair amount of weight post WLS (it will be my 5 month surgiversary Aug 2nd) I had given away 99% of my clothes and had only purchased casual wear.. capris, shorts, tops etc.. and had nothing suitable to wear for a memorial service. So, my sister, who is much smaller than me, loaned me a dress that used to fit her. She said she thought it was a size 18.. which thrilled me, because its been decades since I was able to squeeze into a size 18.. and luckily the dress fit!
Well.. when I put it on Thursday, the tag was making me itchy, so my cousin ripped the tag off the inside of the back of the dress and lo and behold the size was 16.. not 18! What a surprise!!
You could have bowled me over with a feather! 60 pounds lost since date I started optifast, and several inches. I am grateful every day for my WLS and my new chance on life.
I have uploaded the pics of that size 16 dress to my photo album.. not the greatest pics as I just got back from my 4 mile walk this morning, showered and got back into the dress for photo taking.. so my face is a bit flushed from the walk LOL.. but the dress is there and it buttons up and has a wee bit of room to spare.. LIFE IS GOOD post WLS!

My condolences on the loss of your son. Sometimes things just aren't fair.
On a happier note. Size 16 is awesome! Congrats on your 60lbs. loss. If you continue with 4 mile walks (OMG) you'll be wasting away!

I'm so happy for that small ray of light for you on such a sad day - you look lovely in that dress - size 16 is amazing! I'm not surprised though - all those early morning hikes you do have to be having a powerful efect on you, my friend!   60 lbs lost so far is fantastic! Talk to you soon....
