nice 9-month post-op nut visit
I had my 9-month checkin at HRRH this morning. I know people have had trouble with one of the nuts there, but I've had two and they are both very kind. Usually I see Sue, but today I got Michelle - and she is lovely.
I walked out feeling great:
1. I've already hit the program's goal for me (I think they set it at 75% of the weight you probably should lose).
2. Since they first saw me, I'm down 105 lbs and BMI is down from 47 to 29. and I lost 25 before I saw them.
3. I can stop worrying so much about the protein - she said my new goal for my lower weight is just 60g
4. I can start adding in more treats - she actually mentioned m & m's, birthday cake, ice cream (don't worry, I will be very very very cautious about those!)
5. I CAN DRINK! wahoo! From the beginning, Sue had told me 1 year, but Michelle said "9 months, a year, what's the difference?"
I saw a couple of 'befores' in the waiting room and just wanted to give each a hug and say "it will work - and it's totally worth it"
cheers, Lisa

You sweetheart!
You are such a positive person - I swear, you made most of this happen for yourself with your great attitude.
It's funny to me that your new goal for protein is just 60g - mine has been 60 g the whole time. And I was at HRRH as well ... hmmm.
I have volunteered encouragement while waiting in the clinic - I agree that we were all so trepidatious beforehand, and yet it is SO WORTH IT!
Well done Lisa! Bet you feel fab-u-lous.

Congratulations! That is fantastic! My 6 month appt. is in November and if I don't have a stall I should reach my 75% by then.
I haven't done any quilting since before Christmas. There is a little shop in town that sells my stuff but closed for 3 months after Christmas to move the store to a new location. I have been so lazy and with my surgery haven't gotten back to it. I need some inspiration to start again. Maybe I will start making Christmas items so I will be ready when she needs that sort of stuff. It will give me extra money for our Christmas.
Have a glass of wine and celebrate the next stage of your journey.
Cindy
