Have you heard about the new food at the Ex?

New this year:

Deep fried PB&J (can't find calorie count)
Deep fried Slushie (can't find calorie count)
Deep fried Cola (1000 calories)
Deep fried Stick of Butter (400+ calories and 45g fat BEFORE frying and adding drizzle)
Krispy Kreme Burger (1500 calories, 10g sugar per donut - 2000 calories if you add the 'optional fried egg')

Can you say "Clogged Arteries"?    All of these just want to make me .

OMG!  No wonder Americans are the fattest people on the planet.

I would like to know how one deep fries a slushie, lol.  I honestly cannot fathom that tasting good.  Same goes for the pop.

Deed fried stick of butter sounds so wrong on many levels.

And I'll admit I saw the episode of Man v Food where Adam had one of these Krispy Kreme burgers, and it looked tasty, although I knew it would be such a wrong food choice from a health standpoint.

People complain about all the unhealthy foods, but continue to create concoctions like this.

I will admit that prior to surgery I definitely would've indulged in a few of those. That's what the CNE is about - bad food choices! I know a typical indulgence would be: corn dog, funnel cake, tiny Toms, deep fried candy bars. I would rationalize it by telling myself I WAS walking all day!!

Big wonder I was 353lbs!

I also like the Tiny Toms, funnel cakes, waffles & ice cream sandwiches, but draw the line at making 2 donuts the bun on my hamburger.  (Now adays, it would have to be 2 timbits for my slider!!)  Can't fathom deep frying anything but 'standard' deep fried foods (fries, rings, fish, chicken).

Apparently, with the butter, it melts into the dough so you're not actually biting into a stick of butter.  But still .... eeeeewwwww!

When I heard about these new food choices I actually felt angry.  Why are we setting up our children to become the bariatric surgeries of the future?

My very first job that I had was at the age of 13 working at the EX. I was in the food building of course, selling apples and apple juice.. where did I go wrong?. I love the EX and of course the food building but this has gone too far. I thought of calling Rob Ford, and our Provincial/Federal MP's to complain but I knew it would not do any good. They need to promote attendance at the CNE and somehow healthy foods are not as appealing to the younger crowd as all these crazy junk foods, like there aren't enough around!

Somehow though I think this great country of ours needs to do something to promote healthy eating and not be creating and promoting this type of high calorie, high sugar, high fat diet.

Welcome heart disease, diabetes, arthritus, obesity, and an early demise.

I saw a story about these foods at the Ex on the news.  How does someone even think up such things as putting a hamburger on two donuts?  Incredible! And deep fried butter??!! Just the idea of all this makes me want to hurl.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
