Six month surgiversary - wahoo

Today is 6 months since the surgery.

Like everyone else who posts an update, I cannot imagine what took me so long, to decide for the procedure - it has changed my life in so many positive ways.

 I am 72 pounds down.
I am 10 clothing sizes down.
No medications at all (aside from vitamins).
No CPAP anymore, doesn't fit anyway.
Knees don't hurt, hips don't hurt, ankles don't hurt.
I can run for a bus and not pant when I board it.
I can bend over easily to tie up my runners.
My skin looks great, and I glow.

More to the point, I have a future now. That's the greatest thing.
Before the surgery, with my heart condition, I was a walking timebomb.
There was no way I could realize some of my dreams.
Now, I'm starting to plan and schedule them.

I am climbing on a bike again.
I am able to run again.
In 18 months, I will be climbing up to Macchu Piccu in Peru, and looking out over the Andes.

All of that would NEVER have come to pass without the surgery.

THAN YOU VERY MUCH DR. STARR - you literally saved my life.
