A Few Things I've Learned from the Vets
I posted this in Karen M.'s thread, but thought it was worth everyone seeing.
What I've Learned:
1. Your pouch isn't broken, for God's sake. If it was, you'd probably be dead by now (or at least in the hospital).
2. The 5 Day Pouch Test is a crock of sh*t.
3. Be accountable. No one forced the food down your throat to make you fat, so be accountable for what goes in your piehole now.
4. Don't freak out if the scale doesn't move. You're probably just in a stall. Keep on track and it will start again. (And no, your pouch isn't broken. See #1.)
5. Don't ask the same freakin' question over and over, and expect different answers. What are you, 5?
6. If you think you have something serious, go to the hospital, not a message board!
7. Losing weight will not fix your emotional instability. See a specialist for that.
8. Follow your own clinic's instructions.
9. Plan out your food for the day as best you can. That way, you avoid 'Uh oh' moments.
10. ROCK THAT WLS!!

Sometimes you just put one foot in front of the other, even if you don't know where you're going.

Great post! I'd add a couple more that I've seen lately:
You WILL have lose skin. Take a look in the mirror, honey. You needed WLS because you were FAT. And that means stretch marks and damaged skin. It is what it is. That said - I've NEVER heard someone here say they wish they were fat again so they could fill out the skin.
No matter how many sit-ups or arm lifts you do - you aren't going to get rid of that panni or bat wings. Doesn't mean you shouldn't do it - just don't be discouraged when you have trouble seeing the muscles forming under the skin flaps.
If your marriaged sucked a$$ before surgery - it will continue to suck a$$ after surgery. Don't be surprised that your husband/wife doesn't change and become a dream spouse when you shrink.
It's great that early out, you can pretty much eat/drink anything and still lose weight. BUT that will change, and it will become harder to lose/maintain. Don't be an idiot. Get into good habits NOW.
