I think we all know why I don't post anymore but I do return on the occasion when someone points out a thread like this.

Is it because you don't meet the thread/post quota, and you are not allowed to post because of that?

Karen - I've learned a lot from you and your posts as well as all the other vets!  I'm truly grateful and I hope you can feel that there are some of us who are quite appreciative of the support of people like you.  If it were not from the vets I'm pretty sure I would have run away from the surgery based on my initial fear and anxiety.  I am really looking forward to the support I will get here after my surgery.

So pat on your back - and thanks so much.

Melissa

 Hi Karen,

Sorry to hear you are feeling this way! But everyone definitely deserve a vent every once and a while!

I really appreciate your posts and the 'What are you eating today?' posts that you and the other vets create. I'm now on the diet for life phase and it helps me get ideas. I find that for some of the reasons you mentioned above, I don't post often. If I don't know the answer, I won't clog the thread with a guesstimate of an answer, but if it is something I know, as my experience with my pouch and post-op life continues, I will post. I feel that this is why it's important for you and the other vets to continue posting! I can only speak for myself but while I don't post daily, I do read daily and I appreciate your comments (and humorous delivery of said comments) to various forum topics! Please keep posting!

As others before me have posted, your posts are very informative and genuine.  I am very thankful that you directed me to come to this forum as I was trying to find good advice from the rny main board.  The advice and informative posts from vets like you has helped me along the way to make a very informed decision on  to go forward with the rny.
So I guess what I am long-windedly trying to say is thank you, you are a true inspiration.

Well said Karen,

I feel honored to have the Vets help, this site and you especially have explained things so clearly and with so much patience.

I also think that many people are not that computer savy and looking up old posts is not easy for some.

I thank you and the good vets for making me comfortable about my surgery Tueday and I hope that one day I could pass along good advise as well. I am a test subject for Diabetes for Ottawa, and my success can hopefully helps others with this scary disease.

It's ok to vent makes us all feel better.

The search engine on OH sucks (and that's putting it nicely). I'd not ask the most savvy person to use that unless I was in a really foul mood - i use it myself occassionally and get in that mood.. t*ts on bulls are more useful.

But come on... maybe read the current page and a page or two back on the threads in the Ontario forum. If you found OH surely you are savvy enough to hit the page 2 or page 3 button... and click on other people's posts and read them
Sometimes the best support  you can get isn't all purple puddles and pink rainbows.
