that "last paragraph" does not make up for the rest of that blatantly stereotypical blindside. this was more of a "fat bashing" then a car article. (and a very badly written one at that)

I agree completely with Myke as well. The whole article was a disgusting piece of fatphobia.
And don't you love the URL? They don't say it in the article itself or the title, but the URL calls fat people "fatties". Charming.
I work 11 km from my home, so it's not like I can walk there. That means I either have to be in a car or on public transit. Here in Toronto, the seats on public transit are made for small people - I even found that when I was in the 225-250 lb range (I'm a little over 300 now), and it's not like there aren't lots of people who are 250 lbs, especially men.
Yes, I should lose weight. But a lot of people have a really hard time doing that, because once you get to a certain size, it becomes a catch 22 - health issues make it hard to exercise, and not exercising makes you gain weight, etc. Not that we'd expect someone like the author of that article to understand. But fat people need transportation. We can't just walk everywhere or stay home.
