that "last paragraph" does not make up for the rest of that blatantly stereotypical blindside.  this was more of a "fat bashing" then a car article. (and a very badly written one at that)

fuck everything about this douchebag.  i hope he gets fired, loses everything he holds dear to him and winds up with less then nothing.

when hes freezing on the street ill gladly walk up to him and say bet u wish u had a few extra pounds to keep you warm now dont ya.

serisouly **** HIM!
and the other douchebags on that comment section too

I am sorry if my comment upset you, it was not my intent.  I only agree with that people should be getting out an excercising more, it was not meant to offend.  Sorry.

LOL pam i was not mad at YOUR comment at all.  in fact i agree with you about taking a more proactive approach at getting active.

its the article in general that got me fired up.  not your comment to it :)

I would be thrilled if they made airplanes and airplane seats bigger for obese people

Then we would at least be even more comfortable once we lost some weight.

I agree completely with Myke as well.  The whole article was a disgusting piece of fatphobia.

And don't you love the URL?  They don't say it in the article itself or the title, but the URL calls fat people "fatties".  Charming.

I work 11 km from my home, so it's not like I can walk there.  That means I either have to be in a car or on public transit.  Here in Toronto, the seats on public transit are made for small people - I even found that when I was in the 225-250 lb range (I'm a little over 300 now), and it's not like there aren't lots of people who are 250 lbs, especially men.

Yes, I should lose weight.  But a lot of people have a really hard time doing that, because once you get to a certain size, it becomes a catch 22 - health issues make it hard to exercise, and not exercising makes you gain weight, etc.  Not that we'd expect someone like the author of that article to understand.  But fat people need transportation.  We can't just walk everywhere or stay home.
