Long term pain med use and your pouch

So I have asked my family doctor and at the bariatric clinic, but they don't seem to have an answer. Has anyone else had RNY and been on MS Contin long term pre and post op?

This is a time release drug, which I would think you would not get the full benefit of. There's no reason to think though that it would damage your pouch or anything like that, as it is an opiate and not an NSAID. Have you discussed regular release drugs with your doc as an alternative, such as Percocet or other Oxycodone or Morphine regular release meds?
