Groups

With all the discussion about starting Face Book groups and privacy issues, I just wanted to remind folks that anyone can start a group right here on OH.  You have the option of making it completely private, deciding who can or cannot join, etc.  Just go to the "Community" tab at the top of the page and select "Start your own group".  :)

I like the sound of that so much better.  I can't stand all the emails I get from facebook posts.

Me either.  And I'm very private about my WLS.  I prefer to keep all things weight related right here! :)

you can change your "notification" settings on FB.

 I agree 100%!  The privacy issues on Facebook are HUGE.  At least here, we can maintain some sort of anonymity.   My concern with separate groups on Facebook, is that I might miss some valuable information or experience that someone else has.   That's one of the many reasons that I love this OH forum.  It's all in one area and easy for me to use.
Just my very humble opinion of course!

 I agree with you about this site.  All kinds of info and help here.  Joined Dr. 's facebook page for Hamilton, but come here to chat and check  posts.  I have growen comfortable with this site.  And most of all the people *****spond to my silly questions and concerns.  You all know I need help against my daughter's elderly abuse.  Joyce

Great idea Karen I wasn't aware I could do that, maybe I will. Might cause less confusion altho Facebook has its own privacy settings and anything from my group over there can be turned to private.

St. Joes Hamilton Patients group added, I hope this makes people feel more comfortable with joining a site just for St. Joes patients of all 3 surgerys!
