I'm confused about beneprotein. I went to buy some at Sick Kids food store since the TWH nutritionist also recommended it, but I was surprised by how low the protein was...7grams protein per 1.5 tablespoons and 25 calories. She said to mix it in food like applesauce, soups, yogurt, etc to up their protein content. But it just doesn't seem like that much protein. The protein shakes/powders are supposed to have at least 20g of protein per serving, I thought.
I can't imagine mixing a whole 1.5 tablespoons into yogurt or other food, so really it will only add a few grams of extra protein to foods. Mind you, i guess if it dissolves really well, then maybe I would add the whole tablespoon and a half.
how does your husband use it?

He does use a lot in a day and it's expensive when you use it the way and amount you should. He puts it in his soups, yogurt, potatoes, most foods - even in the fettucine I made them Saturday. Last night he put some in his crystal light and he said it tasted fine, actually surprised at how it didn't alter the taste. I got him to try my Premier protein drink as it has 30 grams of protein, which is half of what he needs in a day. He was good with the taste, so now I'll have to double up on the shakes.
It's been really helpful to me that he now has to eat the way I do. Who knew his kidney failure would work out helping me.

I think someone maybe...... Derek from the TWH group said he found some at bulk barn that was cost effective and high in protein. I tried to find the thread for it but of course I suck at searching this forum!
