Hello Everyone,

I only managed to get in 3 optifast's yesterday and am not sure if i will get in 4 today.  I finding it hard in the morning to have the optifast.  I have been using the Magic Bullet and find it a little too thick for my liking.  I also bought one of the blender bottles and tried the vanilla one with cyrstal lite strawberry orange and i found it not as thick.

Did everyone manage to get their 4 shakes in every day?  Just wondering..

I was told 3 - 4 optifast shakes a day and I never actually drank the fourth one. The surgeon was pleased and surgery went well. I was on opticrap for three weeks.

Hi Liz,

I didn't always get 4 optifasts in.  Sometimes only 3.  Try adding more water and ice to make it thinner and just using 1/2 a single crystal lite (very sweet).  My surgery was 3 weeks ago today and everything went perfect only having three.  I'm sure 4 is best but three wasn't a show stopper for me.

Good luck,
Monique

on my first day I only managed to get 3 in but that was cuz I didn't even make one til
close to noon
Keep in mind that with the four shakes you are only getting in 900 calories, that's not much and you may feel very tired if you don't get your fourth in. After I read on the pamphlet about if you don't take all four you could lose muscle mass and risk healing as well in recovery that did it for me and I don't miss one now. Plus at almost a week out I'm finding they aren't staying in my stomach as long and I'm getting pretty hungry for them.

I have not started yet...hoping to get that call tomorrow. I  know  that even if I have to plug my nose and get someone to pour it down me I am going to get the 4 shakes in as the surgeon said if all goes well with the RNY he will do gallbladder at same time. I want to be in the best possible health I can in hopes of making that happen.

I hope it gets easier for you and that you can manage to do the 4 per day.

I am also on day 2.  I got all four shakes in (8 a.m. 11:45 a.m.  4:30 p.m.  8 p.m.).  Today I am also on schedule to have all four.  I found that I start to feel a bit hungry around 4 p.m. so I start to prepare it and start drinking around 4:30 p.m.  I am still at work at 4:30, so I ensure I have a package of the Opti with me.

The 8 am one I drink in the car on the way to work.

I use about 500 ml of water and/or decaf coffee along with 4-6 ice cubes.  When I am at home in the morning and the last one of the day, I also blend the ice and it makes it more like an ice mochachino (or at least in my brain!).

I tried one with vanilla extract yesterday noon, but it still didn`t mask the vitamin taste.  I find the coffee taste offsets it.

Good luck!

Judy

Thanks for all the tips...I do use 500 ML of water, and rightnow i am not adding anything to the chocolate.  I tried adding in cherry crystal lite to chocolate and what a mistake.  It was too sweet and did not taste good.  I couldn't complete all of it.

I am back at work tomorrow, so hoping i can schedule 4 in.  I have to leave at 7;00 in the morning for work, so I will try doing on when i get up and see how that goes.

Have a great eveing everyone...as i drink my optifast..

if its too thick, put more water in.

In the morning try adding a heaping scoop of your decaf coffee to it, will cut some of the sweetness and coffee is always good in the morning.  It's important to try and get all 4 in as you want to build yourself up for surgery.  I did vanilla for breakfast with coffee, chocolate for lunch, vanilla with flavouring for supper and chocolate in the evening.  Didn't put anything in the chocolate.

You'll do just fine, it won't be much longer now!
