Does anyone from Guelph know...

What size bougie Dr. Reed uses..that's one thing I forgot to ask him.

sorry, what is a bougie? Dr. Reed did my surgery, but never heard that word...

Sorry Jackie, I should have specified it was for the VSG surgeries he performs.

 I had a 36 bougie.  He said he was going to do 40 as it is easier if he has to do a DS farther down the road.    In the surgery report it stated that he used 36.  I have great restriction with 36.

Ok I've recently read some posts where theirs were on the small side and they've had some problems so I wondered if he had a standard size he used. I don't really know what the smallest is or the middle average, guess I'll research that some.

I am not too sure what is a normal size.  I knew that 40 was on the bigger side as Dr. Reed told me.  I did leave feeling that 40 was too big and wanted more restriction but just wanted the surgery so just left and thought well its better than what I have lol. 
I am pleased that it is 36.  I am six months out and have restriction. Of course not like 3 months ago now that all the swelling and everything has settled down.  I can eat a cup and a bit but try to weigh things so I don't go over. 
I think smaller could be a lot more difficult and bigger for me would not be good.
