What are you eating/doing today? (Thursday)
(So do I. LOL)
No. And I'm annoyed at myself because I meant to ask and forgot. What they DID tell me was that they would call prior to calling my reference - which I found odd, but okay! lol It's not like my director doesn't know that I applied. Heck, I gave him a copy of the job description, my resume, my cover letter and highlighted the points he was to remember. hahahaha

Being newly unemployed seems to be agreeing with me. I get to sleep 10 hours a night which is rare so I will take it. It screws up my day as far as food goes as I was used to a certain schedule for years but I will manage the new one soon.
Good luck with waiting Karen. You have a good attitude about it and I also strongly believe in when it's meant to be, it will happen.
B - basa and green beans leftover from last night's dinner
S - won't need one as I haven't eaten breakfast yet
L - hamburger patty with the fixings, small side green salad
S - 4 triscuits, 1 ounce emental cheese
D - coq au riesling, grilled asparagus
S - likely just tea but if feeling any hunger will make it into a latte

Thank you friend. :)
Question for you - I've never tried basa. I'm assuming it's a white fish, but firm? Sweet? Fishy?

It's a firm white fish. Reminds me of catfish texture or even pike texture. I don't find it fishy but then again I don't find any fish to be fishy. It's fairly mild but not sweet like perch. We really like it and can find it year round so it's our go to white fish when we run out of the stuff we catch.
Hmmm. I may have to try it. I'm not a huge fish fan, so I'm always wary.
Okay, comparing it to halibut, which I love, what's it like. LOL

I like halibut too but I like all fish so it's hard for me to really compare. I would say it's firmer than halibut but the taste would be a tad stronger but not much. I know everyone seems to love tilapia because it's mild, but every damn time I buy it, I get the ones that taste like earth.
Thanks - I'll consider it next time. Halibut costs an arm and a leg, maybe basa is cheaper!

They have it in the frozen section at the Walmart Superstores. Regular price is about $10 for a bag but often comes on sale for $7. I think it has 2.2 lbs in it so about 6 fillets. We used to buy catfish at the fish monger all the time then we tried this and it's very close to catfish and a fraction of the price so now I buy that and just catfish on the rare occasion.
Jeezus H. - I've paid as much for one piece of halibut at times.
Basa it is!
Basa it is!
