I will be 4 weeks post-op with my VSG on Wednesday and I am on my surgeon's puree menu at this point.  I am finding myself experiencing hunger and I'm wondering if I am not eating enough.

This is what I had today....

Breakfast
1 Pureed Boiled Egg with 1tsp light mayo

Lunch
1/4 cup of pureed tuna salad.

Dinner
1/4 cup of pureed chilli with 10 grams of melted cheddar.

Snack
1 tbs of roasted red pepper hummus
1 cup of protein shake

Please help...I haven't lost weight in almost 2 weeks now after some dramatic loss early on...I am a little terrified that I am screwing this up.

You're doing fine, it is normal for your body to freak out and hold on for dear life to everything it has soon after surgery. you're doing fine.

It's possible, but unlikely that it's actual hunger. Maybe you can journal it when it happens? see if there is a pattern to the times where you feel hungry to see if there is a head hunger or emotional hunger connection.

I am 3 weeks post op and I'm eating soft foods.  Looks like you're not eating enough.    Maybe it's time to try some soft foods.  Go slow, chew like hell, and pause to see if you're filling up.  Don't worry about overeating, you'll only manage a cup of food, then you'll feel full.  I made a yummy sheppards pie tonight, with extra lean ground beef.  For the topping I used half mashed potatoes and half mashed carrots.  Ate one cup and it was very satisfying. Just stick to the plan and the weight will come off.  Don't get weighed too much.

Aren't you hungry? I have to have 3 meals and at least 2 snucks.

First of all, you're doing great.  A stall is totally normal right now.  You are doing nothing wrong, and this WILL work for you!

I have 3 meals and 2-3 snacks daily to stop hunger.  I had hunger very early out, I think it was around 4 weeks.  You may want to try eating a little bit more and adding snacks during the day.  Here's my eating schedule:

B - 7 am
S - 10 am
L - 12:30
S - 3-3:30 pm
D - 5:30-6 pm
S - 8-8:30 pm

Snacks don't need to be big, but shoudl be protein based.  I usually have Greek yogurt or 1/2- 1 oz of LF cheese, maybe a few berries or other soft fruit (at your stage I'd try canned peaches, they're very digestible).

Hang in there.  Your body will adjust!
