thank you for this. I have read it, and will read it again. and again. I'm so scared about something like this.
Penny was two years post surgery. Another friend of mine was 6 yrs post RNY when she had a bowel obstruction. We need to be vigilant about not ignoring these symptoms. If i experience something like this, i will go to my WLS centre if at all possible.

Yeah, I posted about this last week as well.
I had an "Ileus" when I was younger, and my surgeon has warned me about both ulcers and bowel intussception.

Very scarey, but we mustn't assume that just because we make it past the one-year mark, that we're free and clear.

Our bowels were messed with, and our diet is different from before the surgery. Any symptoms like pain, watery stools, constipation, pencil-thin stools are all a reason to pay attention.

My sympathies to FrekieChick's family - that is just a horrible way to go.
