I think that it's a great idea to start tracking/journalling your intake. Every little step that you take pre-op just makes your post-op life easier. I still journal religiously as it keeps me on track.
Before surgery I started to walk more, gave up pop and tried to stop drinking with my meals (which for me was a huge change!)
