49 days until we take our kids to Disney World in Florida for 8 wonderful days! I am so excited although I hope I can take care of my iron problems before then so I can have a bit more energy! haha....
Anyway....
Does anyone have any tips for eating successfully when you are 3 months out from surgery and on vacation? We will likely eat most of our breakfasts inside our suite since we have a kitchen and dining room but other than that most of our days will be eating out! Eek!! We will probably eat breakfast out twice the entire trip because the family loves iHop but I think I can manage breakfast food pretty easily..just get a scrambled egg or some turkey sausage.....but what about lunches and dinners? Does anyone have any experience with Disney and post-op life?
Here is our schedule....
Friday Night - Fly in late and settle in (we get in near midnight)
Saturday - Groceries and hang out around resort.
Sunday - Disney Animal Kingdom
Monday - Daytona Beach
Tuesday - Disney Magic Kingdom
Wednesday - Resort Swimming and Shopping Day
Thursday - Disney Hollywod Studios
Friday - Universal Studios
Saturday Night - Fly home

I experienced Disney last year, way before I started the process and found some of the quick service counter meals very fattening. we were starved for fruit and veggies. we would stock up at breakfast and bring it with us. you can take food in with you or at least security never stopped us.
have a great trip, I can't wait to go back again soon!!

Most hotels (even in Disney) you can request a fridge...or we've emptied the bar fridge and restocked with the products when we've left. Grocery shopping get all the yummy US goodies people posted. I would contact Disney and ask if you can bring in food to the attractions (I know they searched our bags but it was around 9/11) perhaps they will allow because of our special diets.
Protein bars for your day trips, you can get great ones in the US. Buy a Disney water bottle that can be refilled with water and take crystal light. Your going to have a blast. Diane
