My first major awesome NSV! Celebrate with me!

This week has been really refreshing for me.....after losing 8.5 pounds last week I did not lose a single pound this week but I sort of expected it. Instead of moping and getting worried that I had "broken my sleeve" I started doing some good things for myself!
First it was a manicure! Then it was a dye and cut at the salon which was much needed since my hair is slightly thinning at this point. I got a lot of compliments on the hair cut so I feel super happy about that!
Today though...my mom and I went to penningtons with the intention of getting me a new bra or two as my band around was getting too lose! When we were there my mom says she is giving me 150 dollars to spend on new clothes because really my old ones were horrible (but I was trying to hold out until the winter passed).....and since I was going back to work tomorrow she didn't want me to feel all blah about it.
Trying on and buying clothes has always been a sort of painful experience for me. It usually ends up with me leaving with a pair of yoga pants and some tee's from the 2 for 39 dollars pile. I would usally just get so worked up with upset feelings about clothes not fitting and leave very unhappy. But today......something just happened that was such a surreal experience...
At my highest weight (390) I was wearing a size 30 jeans at penningtons...not very easy to come by I tell you....so I felt I was being naive when I took a size 26 off the rack and went into the change room to try them on..... as I pulled the pants up over my hips I actually closed my eyes and pulled them to do them up.....I could tell right away that they were huge! I went out and showed my mom and she literally laughed saying omg those are WAY too big on you! I asked her to get me the 24 and tried them on and they were too big too!!
OMG I came out of the store with a size 22 jeans and a pair of 2X yoga pants!! Plus...........several tops in a 3X ...I used to wear a 5X....this is shocking to me too because I just have such large ta-tas! I also got two new bras......Ohhhh what a joyful experience! Brings tears just typing this out!

that is amazing, PJB!!! I love hearing this... shopping is no longer a painful experience (just try to shop judiciously, you're going to shrink even more, and very quickly)!VSG on 01/25/12

Yippee! And those size 22s will be slipping off you in no time! Its all downhill from here, lol!
That was nice of your mom to offer to buy you some clothes. I've only got two pairs of pants that fit right now and I'm going to try and make them wor****il I'm ready to buy some spring clothing...but its kinda boring to have such limited fashion options right now. Congrats on your NSV!
