Optifast Rant with way too much info - Beware

Let me preface this with two statements. First, I will not fall off the wagon so close to my surgery. Second, every person's reaction to Optifast is different. This is just my negative experience.

I am beginning to think that paramilitary groups should use Optifast as a torture device. I have got the blessing of having a second round of terrible Optitrots. The cramps have been stupid painful and I have been running to the bathroom every 10 minutes from 6 pm until 11 pm everyday for the past 4 days. I cannot trust a fart until after midnight. If you gave this stuff to a prisoner they'd take within a few days of getting the trots. I am suffering terribly. I have been drinking enough and taking my vitamins etc etc. After the first round of trots, I began to take Benefibre with every shake, it bound be up and I was regular again. Now the fibre doesn't work even if I take a ridiculous amount of it. So imodium has become my best friend. I wish my surgeon had not placed me on the stupid plan for 4 weeks. If it had been 3 weeks, I would have avoided this round of torture. Dammit and thanks for letting me rant!

RANT OFF

The best thing about this ordeal has been that I have not been hungry in weeks and I realize that I can overcome my head hunger. And I've lost almost 40 pounds since starting on 23 Feb.

Benefibre didn't work for me either when I did Opti, I had to use metamucil and it was much better.  The end is almost here for you.

Your e-mail made me chuckle although I'm sure trots are not fun. Every 10 minutes -Yikes! Cramps too eh!

The positive is good - that you are not hungry. I was mad hungry like a rabid dog.

Hey Dave!  The only thing I can say is ... It's almost over!!  I can't imagine 4 weeks of opti but on the positive side of this almost totally negative situation you have successfully faced your head hunger. I wish you All the Best with your surgery on the 23!!  Yikes - this Friday!!  I'll be thinking about you.

Hey Dave....we only have 10 more shakes and off we go!!!! I have been on Opti since March 2 and still suffer from the clog.... Trade ya?!? lol

We are almost done this leg of the journey and we have all new experiences to look forward to!! All the best on friday!!! The 23rd ROCKS!!!!
