What to eat for Easter??
Ok so im asking that no one leaves me nasty messages...this is just a question and me asking for suggestions! Easter Sunday is our big dinner and I will only be 12 days out of my sleeve surgery. Im suppose to start "full fluids 2 days later. Would it be wrong of me to have some blended up soup that I can drink through a straw and pudding or something that will satisfy me for the day? Maybe there is some other suggestions out there that I could have that I havent even thought of. I havent had any complications so far and beside the very painful "hungar" pains i feel really good.
Hi Lisa,
If I understand correctly, you are to start full fluids on Tuesday? I can't tell you what to do, but with my VSG, I went home from the hospital on full fluids. Some centres don't allow straws, (I personally don't agree with that), but this early out, you're probably best to take small spoonfuls.
Happy Easter!

Yes correct. I am on clear fluids for 2 weeks and then full fluids for 2 weeks then soft/regular diet after that. Its crazy how hungry I am! I did optifast for 3 weeks before this as well with only broth
at lunch and dinner. I didnt feel this much hunger on the shakes as I do now. I know alot is head hunger, but i figured with my stomach so small I would feel full after a few sips of fluids. Im not trying to complain about any of this as this is what I wanted to do and im determined to be a success but at the same time i didnt think it would be this hard to get over the fluid stages. One thing that is awesome is that im dropping weight at a very fast pace now....35lbs since March 7 :)

Why would people leave you nasty messages???
I'd suggest you stay away from the straw, it introduces too much air into your stomach, which you probably shoudl stay away from. But a thick soup, sure, that'd be fine. lots of centres are on full fluids at your stage.
that being said, you should maybe check with your wls centre.

I ddn't have the sleeve so I am not familiar with any pain etc that may be associated with what you would like to do.
bring your soup, heat it up and slowly eat it (normally)..that way you will enjoy part of the festivities as well.
as you progress further through your journey you will learn to focus more on the event rather than on food..at least that's how it is for most people who have had bariatric surgery..you go prepared and stick with what you know.
