Are you on high blood pressure pills?  I was and had to get off of them quickly after I had surgery as I didn't need them anymore and they were causing low blood pressure and dizziness.  Just a thought!

Did you wake up with it?  I just finished having vertigo for the past week.   If you are just sitting still and then move your head from side to side or up and down then you might have vertigo..  my mother has it a few times a year and I just had my first spell of it.   I hope your feeling better soon.  Not a very great feeling.

Yes!  It happened when I first woke up and then about half an hour ago when my son came and sat next to me....he started talking to me and suddenly it was like the room was moving side to side in slow motion!

Your blood pressure might be low. You can check it yourself at a drugstore like shoppers drug mart, it'd be a good idea to test it before you go see your GP on monday, because when he checks it, it might be abnormally high, (white coat syndrome, people's blood pressure raising because of the stress of seeing the doctor). So, if you go check it yourself today and tomorrow, then bring those readings to him/her it might be a more accurate representation of your actual bp.

Are you getting enough fluids?

Make sure you get up slowly from a lying position. sit on the side of the bed/couch before you stand.

I've had two kinds of problems related to dizzy spells.

I had normal blood pressure when I was obese; now I have low blood pressure (discovered due to the dizzy spells).  Adding salt to my diet, including a G20 every day, has made a big difference.

I also get dizziness from an inner ear problem.  We're not really sure what it is, but my GP has referred me to an ENT (about a year and a half to get an appt!) who I'll be seeing in Sept.

Hope it's something nice and simple!

I had same issues, it stems from blood pressure, be it being too low at rest...remember pre WLS when we were at rest our hearts had to work a lot harder and know they do not, solution is 2 fold,  when your ready to stand sit up etc, do it slowly, the change is gradual, And and. Secondly funny enough is that It stems from dehydration...keep drinking those fluids...that was the case for me anyways.

Do you have any history of diabetes or hypoglycemia (low blood sugars)....whenever my blood sugar went low i would get dizzy....if you do not have a history i would monitor your symptoms with respect to what and when you have last eaten. Since post-op we tend to have limited carb intake it might be related to this. If it gets better after a small drink of milk or juice it might be due lo blood sugar.
