Gall Stones
Hi there
If the surgeon thinks something should be done, they would possibly do it at the same time as your wls.
When I had my ultrasound before surgery they found a huge galstone, but since it wasn't causing any problems they just left it. That was almost 7 years ago and touch wood, still no problems
Take care

My ultrasound showed gall stones and it did not affect my surgery in any way.

Through a mix-up, my ultrasound report (showing I had gallstones) went to my family physician instead of the Weight Management Clinic and he didn't advise me until a month after the surgery. I have never had any pains, but my mother and three sisters all have had their's removed (because of pain) in the past. If I had known of the gallstones, I would simply have asked the surgeon to remove my gall bladder during the procedure.
While it is a relatively simple day surgical procedure, it can be a PITA to get the confirming diagnosis and scheduled procedure after the fact. It is quite common for WLS patients who undergo significant weight loss to require the removal so your odds have increased significantly that you will need it done at some time in the future so it may as well be now.
I'm not a doctor, but I have seen plenty of them on television.
