I need some words of encouragement

Hey all.
I don't really post much on here because i am kind of a shy girl but I'm having some lack of motivation. I need some encouraging words.
I'm almost done my appoinments, all I have left is to see the doc to make sure my Vit D is good then he told me I'd be off to see the surgeon.
I've been doing really well I've lost 20lbs eating great, exercising. But this past week and a half I've completely fallen short on all of my hard work and as a result feel a little drained.
Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
I know I'm almost there.

Hugs, Stephanie!!

You really can do this. I know sometimes it feels like its too hard, its too far away, you're too fat, you're too tired. But the time will come, when you have your surgery, and the weight starts coming off, and you'll realize how wonderful this is. But remember its still hard work, but you can do hard things. I know you can learn from all of those who have gone before you.

Hugs again!

Stefanie, we ALL fall down at some points. Don't beat yourself up about it, please.  Look at all of the hard work and positive things you've done and focus on that!

Hi Stefanie.  It sounds like you have been making some awesome changes in your lifestyle.  20lbs is a great accomplishment!  I don't have much in words of wisdom as I am in the waiting process like you.  However, I want to say you are doing great and keep making those baby steps.  One day at a time is how I am taking it.  Hang in there.  We can do this.

First off...CONGRATS! on the 20lbs lost on your own! Like Karen said, dont beat yourself up over this. We all slip and we all fall. If losing weight on our own was easy, none of us would need the surgery.

You're making some really great positive changes before surgery that'll really benefit you post-surgery.

Pick yourself up, dust off and start over. Every day is a new day and a chance to make this day better than yesterday.

Hi Stefanie

You are doing great. Most of us before surgery find it so hard to get motivated.
The waiting is a killer. When I started out, 7 years ago I was told the wait in Ontario would be 5-10 years............................ZERO motivation LOL after hearing that.
Luckily I didn't wait that long LOL
Anything you do before surgery is a bonus. You are getting just THAT much healthier.
Keep posting on here. That's why we're here.
I'm glad even though you are shy you feel you can post for encouragement.
You will look back on this soon and will not believe how time has flown

Take care
Keep your chin up

Hey Stefanie -

some people sit around and moan.
They complain about their husbands - or they complain about their lack of husband.
They complain about their aches and pains, or the weather, or their families, or their bodies, or their work.

So many of them never do anything about any of that.
They just complain.

You have made a huge decision, and you have taken steps to bring this complex and important project to fruition.
You have no need to criticize yourself - you are already doing so much more than all fo them are doing (and we all know a few of "them", don't we?)

Having made a beginning, you now need to handle it just like you would a large project - step 1, step 2 ....
So what if you stumble at step 3? You go at it again.

You can do this.
We all know you can do this.

And we've got your back if you stumble.

Thanks everyone for you kind words. Sometimes you just need someone else's thoughts to put things back in perspective.
Thanks again.

Stephanie, You have done a fabulous job losing 20 lbs on your own. Don't beat yourself. Make a list on paper of all that you have done.Work on making mini changes and not so much the scale.
Eg. Started exercise program, given up Pop, reduced coffee. etc. Look at all of the great things that you have accomplished.

Your a Star.

My thing about WLS is that they can fix your stomach but they don't fix your head. You've had issues with food and eating for a long time, they aren't going to go away overnight. You've done amazing so far. 20 lbs!! Awesome!! I can't remember outside of WLS when I ever lost 20 lbs so give yourself a pat on the back for the great job you've done. We fall down, we get back up, we keep going. That's life. Take it one day at time. Yesterday is gone, learn from what you've done, the good and the bad and move on.
