I need some words of encouragement

Hey Stephanie,

Congrats on how close you are! Just a little push to the start line.

I would imagine that no matter where you are in this journey, there will be moments where you have to take a break. Life doesn't stop just because we have smaller stomachs and because we are really getting and staying healthy.

Keep your eye on the big picture. Sometimes a journal can help - especially for mood tracking - you would probably be surprised how closely our bodies are tied to nature, and cycles. I love the "oh duh" moment when I realize that no, I am not going to kill myself..it's PMS, and it will pass.

Write down whatever made yoy feel better, see if it works again. Fid a really good day, and see what happened that made it that way.

Allow yourself to be human and then get better at it.

Lori

Hi Stephanie!

You are doing great!  You've taken a little dip, but you can get back on the track you've set.  No one said this journey was an easy one, but you're doing it.  One step at a time.  And that's all anyone can ask of ourselves, take it one step at a time.

Good luck with the blood tests!

Hi Stefanie.

It's normal to become discouraged and unmotivated when you get close to your goal.  As a student, I've seen countless people go through this in their last semester, once the degree is right there within reach.  Don't let all of the work you've done go unacknowledged; you've done extremely well and maybe you just need a little break to find your motivation again.  We all do at times.  you're almost there, and we're behind you.

Let us know when you have your surgeon's appt!

I second a food journal! There are tons out there, that track everything from mood to break downs of food via cals, protien, etc.
Head up and look forward, not back. :) Losing 20lbs is amazing! Way to go!

Good things come to those who WAIT. Better things come to those who TRY. Best things come to those who BELIEVE in their efforts!!"  You Can to this   I go to see the Surgeon June 15, and I know it is hard... you made it through Christmas, New Years and Easter... One Step at a time, The road is a long one and if you look behind you ... you will see just how far you have come. Believe in your efforts and live one day at a time... who cares what you did yesterday today is a new day and tomorrow is yet to be.... Good luck

Ever learn how to ride a bike?  Bet that you didn't do it perfect the first time.  Lots of stumbles and falls but each time you pick yourself up, brush off and get back on again.  Major accomplishments are major because they are hard and take work!  Good luck, you can do it

This is why we need surgery. We can do well for small periods of a time, but fall off again. Even after surgery, eventually we all have our days. The are much different than pre-surgery (well, at least they are for me, but i'm only a year out), but just identifying the problem and posting is a great start! You can do it!

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
