Grr Vitamins!
I am not sure how VSGers absorb iron...all I can say is that as an RNY patient my iron levels have been below the acceptable range since I had my surgery over 3 years ago...there was mention at one point of having iron infusion done, but that was over 2 years ago.
I see my doctor every 2-3 months to keep a tab on things...and during the past 3 years I have changed my iron 3 times and increased the amounts. IT's sitll not budging. have also talked to my doctor about a hysterectomy, because the iron levels are really depleted during the menstrual cycle, which doens't help either.
Never had low Vitamin A, just low Vitamin D' for which I take a liquid supplement which I add to my morning cofefe w/protein.

I went for my 3 month appt. today and was told that my Vitamin A level was low as well, she wants me to take 10,000 IU a day for the next 3 months and then she will check my levels again in 3 months. My Vitamin D level was a slightly on the low side as well....at least they are easy fixes. You are looking fabulous by the way!!
