OT: Hot flashes
Thank you. He's taking my uterus and my Fallopian tubes. leaving everything else. It's the injection that's killing me, which my body fought the first time. Once this is over, I won't have to worry about it for 5+ years. I hope. lol

Thank you for the laugh this morning. I'm afraid I'm not feeling much like a "hottie". Just hot. LOL

Good heavens, you ARE lucky. If it hasn't happened by now, I can't imagine it happening at all!

Hi Karen! I don't have any experience with this or any advice to offer but I just wanted to send you a few buckets of ice and delish cool beverages to help you keep cool!

Hope they clear up quickly for you. Hot is never fun - you can only take so many clothes off before it becomes obscene!! (not that I mind but, hey, others might have more delicate sensibilities lol)

Oh I feel your pain,
Hot flashes started for me 3 months ago. Holy Moly, its like someone flicked a swith and I'm on fire from the inside out! Mine are only at night, which is bad as I wasn't getting a lot of sleep. Then the hot flashes stoped last week.
I just can't keep up with all these body mood swings lol.

The worst part: Since starting the Lupron shots (I've now had 2) to stop everything, I have had ONE day where I wasn't bleeding! TMI, I know.

Finally, something i can give you advice on.
Well my experience at least.
I start peri menopause about 7 years ago, when I was 44.
The hot flashes would start at my toes and travel all the way up to my head. man they were bad, didn't get the night sweats like some.
About 4 years ago i hit menopause and the hot flashes come and go but no were near as intense. I just throw the covers off at night or take off my sweater during the day. But the mood swing**** me BIG TIME last fall. I could have killed my DH. Those i couldn't deal with.
Found something natural that helped me. It's called MacaDerm and it's from the maca plant in the Andies mountains, you can pick it up at any health food store. I get the powder and put it in my tea or a protein shake each morning.
It's supposed to replace the hormones that are no longer being produced. And it works for me. Even though I'm in menopause I still get my regular PMS cycle and If i don't take it, all hell breaks loose.
so i'm hoping the hot flashes subside for you, if you find you are getting the mood swings, i recommend the maca. It is supposed to help with hot flashes as well. I find those go on hiatus now and then and then they return.
I'm just waiting for this hell to end. Sucks big time, but i think i've got it under control.
Best of luck on the surgery.
