Proud of myself today!

Well, four weeks ago I had  2 days of assessment appts and at that time I was asked what kind of exercise I was doing and I was ashamed to say none.  Once I got home I decided to start to walk 3 days a week for 10 mins a day on the treadmill.  Today I was albe to walk 2 kms in 30 mins.  This is a big accomplishment for me as I have very bad arthritis in my hip and right leg and I also have 3 herniated disks in my lower back .  One day I wish to do a 10 km marathon and run it!  My life is changing so much right now and I haven't even had my surgery yet.
But one step at a time.......one step at a time!

Great work!   Well done -- your two kilometers in 30 minutes is a perfect example of a NSV (non-scale victory).

Congratulations!

I find that if I look at it like "one step at a time" I feel like I can acheive what I need to!

That is wonderful, take the walking slow at first until you see what you hip will tolerate. I have arthritis too and find that one day walking (a lot) equals two days of real pain.

Thank you so much!.....yes I am going slow, this is why I only started walking fort 10 mins.  It seemed to work for me .  I uped that time by 5 mins once and awhile, this is why I could do 30 mins today........I find that if I walk 3 days a week I don't seem to be in as much pain as I would be if I walked every day.  My Doc told me to take a Tylenol a 1\2 hr before I walk and it works great!  How often do you walk?....
