OT: Ice Shaver

OH.  MY.  GAWD.

Best purchase ever!!  I am currently enjoying a diet cranberry juice, vodka and of course, ICE!  I LOVE this thing!! I was lucky enough to find the diet versions of Baha Bob's Mai Tai, Pina Colada and Mojito this morning at Homesense too.

*singing*  Heaven.... I'm in heaven......

Going to make an iced coffee next!  Yahoo!

I don't own a blender but my biggest worry is buying a blender (magic bullet etc.) and not having it crush ice properly.  I've heard some mix things great but don't do well with ice.

Hamilton Beach makes the ice shaver.  It is freakin' AWESOME! You can choose slushie consistency or snow cone, which I will be making shortly. LOL  Easy to use, easy to clean, $39. VERY pleased!

Okay, think I need to get one. Eh Karen, you should be getting a commission for this?

I have questions before I get one. Read such mixed reviews on them.

1. Did you use ice cubes from a tray that makes big enough cubes or the bags of cubes or what?

2. How long to slush up enough ice for one drink?

1.  I could have easily used ice cube tray ice cubes, no problem.  I was out today and bought a bag of ice.

2.  About 2.5 minutes. It works REALLY fast. :)

I lied, I just time tested it.  1 minute tops.

Oh and that was for TWO drinks BTW.
