windsor peeps
I am just starting out in Windsor with my Orientation in July, just wondering though did you have all your appointments so far in Windsor?
Which hospital do Windsor ppl get referred to for surgery?
How long did it take you thus so far, Have you already met the surgeon?
Congrats on making it so far and thanks for any help

Hi there,
I went through the Windsor clinic and had all my appointments there and had my surgical education class at Windsor Western Hospital. After that my file was sent to Toronto and I waited for a call giving me my appointment to meet with the surgeon.
I believe Windsor people are usually sent to Guelph although I know that a lot of them are also sent to Toronto - I had my surgery at Toronto Western Hospital a couple of weeks ago.
In my case, from the time my doctor sent in my referral until the day I had my surgery, the wait was 1 year and 10 months - it would have been sooner except that my file was sent to Toronto & "misplaced" for a couple of months.
It does take a while but you can use the time wisely to do as much research as you can about the surgery and about what life is like after surgery - there's a lot to learn & this forum will be an excellent resource for you. Good luck!
