I am 7 1/2 weeks out I have been feeling very nauseous since thursday. I have been getting over a horrible cold  and just assume it was because of that. However now 3 days later I still feel nauseous. Trying to eat and keep up the protein and getting my vitamins in. The wave of nauseousness is very overwhelming .... I can't eat as much my energy level is down and I feel like I have a hair in my throat sometimes so weird. When I feel good I feel great and have no issues doing stuff or eating but when I am nauseaous I am out for the count.
any suggestions?

is it habitual? can you predict it or anything like after you eat such and such, do you feel like it is vitamin related? happening around the same events everyday?
Are you exhausted and nauseated from that?
I dont have any tru suggestions just trying to pin point what you think it might be

Have you tried gravol? It comes in chewable form, make sure you are not getting dehydrated. Are you still on Prevacid or something for your stomach?  Reflux or ulcer can contribute to nausea. I would suggest giving your centre a call tomorrow.

I haven't had it do that to me but it might be a good to ask the pharmacist if its a side effect some people get; they'd be the experts i'd think.
Sometimes the best support  you can get isn't all purple puddles and pink rainbows.

You may need to get back on the Prevacid - many centres are now prescribing it for 3 months post-op. I know I was extremely nauseous for 3 weeks until I got the right dose and frequency sorted out.
I had OHIP approved Duodenal Switch surgery with Dr. Dennis Hong at St. Joseph's Hamilton on March 7th, 2012. Want more information on the DS in Ontario? Send me a private message!

Perhaps you are dehydrated, are you drinking enough fluids? Try drinking more water and see if that makes a difference. In the beginning its hard to get the protein in, eat and drink.

In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.
