OT: Sorta... weight loss musical review
Well, I braved the torrential downpours, thunder, lightning and all around miserable weather last night to attend the free preview of "How I Lost One Pound: The Musical".
Ladies, this is a MUST SEE for those of us on this journey. Every point made, every joke said, every song parodied resonated so strongly with my lifetime struggle with weight and body image. I laughed from the time they started to the time they finished - my cheeks hurt! lol
I also ran into Yasmeen! Yasmeen, my mother said to tell you that you look FABULOUS and she never would have ever guessed you were one of my "weight loss ladies". LOL
A reporter from SNAP (local newspaper) was there and asked if he could photograph my mom and I, took our names, etc. SOooooo.... we may be famous in their July edition. LOL
The musical will be performed several times during the Toronto Fringe Festival in July. Tickets are only $10 - would be fun to get a group of us together!
ETA: OMG! I forgot to mention! I met the writer and had a great talk with her. She gave me her email address and told me to make sure to let her know when I (we) are coming down to see the show so she can come greet us.

A late lunch/early dinner sounds very nice to me. :) I'll have to see what restaurants are around there.

I figure anywhere called "Shanghai Cowgirl" is worth checking out. LOL Also, totally within walking distance.
