Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone else out there has done the protein modified instead of Opti?  I was taken off Opti after 7 days of allergic reactions and put on Portein  Modified diet.  Just want to know if I am doing this correctly.......  I don't want to mess up and not have surgery!

Kim,

I had the same thing happen to me. I went on the Protein modified diet before my surgery. Your concerns were the same as mine lol. I can honestly tell you as long as you stick to it like you're supposed to you will have no problems going into surgery.

I actually didn't mind the diet at all. lol

Good luck with your surgery and I know you will rock the diet and we will see you on the bench soon.

Teresa :)

Thanks Teresa!  I am so scared of the surgeon getting in there and saying "Nope"!!!  I'm sticking to it 110% but feel like it's almost too much food!

*raises a hand*

I did it from the get go (knew opti was an allergy issue).

Feel free to ask for any info I can share. I tracked it for the 3 weeks also and can share ideas... etc.

What do you need help with hun?

Oh and I managed to lose 15 very unexpected lbs on it and I tend to lose inches and not lbs lately...

I also knew that Opti would be an issue but my surgeon was confident that I'd be ok.......  Needless to say, now I have all of this Opti and no one to use it!  Sent you a friend request.  Just want to send an example of what I'm eating and make sure I'm good to go.  I'm tracking it on the health tracker and it shows that I'm right on track but I'm still worried

Honestly... I use to look at the 1400 calories on some days and cringe... and it still worked out.

I'll take a look and may even have some ideas for you for foods...

did you have to get in 129 g of protein, and have carb servings requirements and all that? That really pushed mine up to between 1200-1400 a day.

I also was on the PSMF due to my corn allergy.  I found it no problem.  If anything, it has made post op life quite easy to adapt to.

That is how I'm starting to feel!  This is preparing me for all of the measuring and weighing and making those healthy choices.  It makes you very aware of everything that you are consuming!  I feel much better after speaking with Shell this afternoon and I'm now confident that I'm on the right track!  Thanks Shell!!!
