Pre-Op and Anesthesiology Appt - Guelph... When?

For those of you that have gone through Guelph recently.... when in the Pre-Op and Anesthesiology appt booked?  I had really hoped that I wouldn't have to drive another 1.5 hours for another appointment.. just wondered if it is done the week before or on admission for surgery??

My surgery is booked for April 5 and my anesth. appt is March 25th. I too have to make the drive.

My nurse/ anesthesiologist apt was about 3 weeks before surgery.... Not sure about the pre op, I had to be in for surgery two hours before it started, maybe that was the preop?

My surgery is March 13th and my pre-op appt is March 4th.

You'll have to drive for PATT's... sorry hun. It sucks but they do it typically 5-21 days before a booked surgery it seems.

They need time for things to be read, logged, input into the system, etc. If they tried to do it the day of a surgery it would be too much and delay surgery times.

 

I had to make a few extra trips too!

My pre-op was on October 20th, October 24th back to Guelph to get my pic line put in,

back to Guelph the next day October 25th for surgery.

Shell gave you acturate advice, they need the results back from the pre-op tests

just to make sure you have the green light to go ahead!

My surgery is on March 8th. It started out confusing because Linda called first to book Dr. Argawal for the 22nd, and then Julie called just after about the Anesthesiology for tomorrow but she said that tomorrow is the only time she could do it. So I had to take it so that was two trips and then when she said that I would have to come another day for the pre-op that would be 3 trips so I was disappointed.  About 1/2 hour later they called from the pre-op department and seen that I was coming in tomorrow and she wanted to save a trip so they squeezed me in.....boy was I grateful..   I wasn't to happy so I was glad they could squeeze me in...........then I get home and Linda has called again saying that Dr. Argawal doesn't have to see me and canceled for the 22nd........all confusing.

Hi Nicole.   As you know my surgery is March 8 but my pre-admission stuff at the Guelph Hospital is on Feb 25... just under 2 weeks from surgery.

I got that date about 1.5 weeks after seeing the surgeon.

 

So you should be soon.
