Can I eat Spicy Purees 2 Weeks Post-Op?
Hi everyone,
I'm sorry if this sounds like a dumb question.
I'm going to enter the pureed food stage on Monday. I'm not having any trouble now and I'm using a liberal amount of freshly ground pepper in my daily serving of cottage cheese.
I'm not looking forward to bland pureed chicken though and I was hoping that I could prepare some spicier chicken using recipes for post-op patients and just puree that. I would like to do some chicken breast pieces with Dijon marinade and a curry marinade. They would both be made with non fat Greek style yogurt and spices, and then baked and pureed. For the curry marinade, I might have to add some lime or lemon juice to make the marinade work.
Do you think my 2 week old pouch can handle the spices and a smidgeon of lemon or lime juice? I have no idea.
Do you have any favourite items that I should try pureeing?
Thank you for any comments you might have!
Jenn. :)
Hi! Jenn
I see you are doing well with the weight loss. I have been using hot sauce on my cottage cheese with fresh ground pepper as well. Monday will be exciting for us on to pureed oh boy! I have been searching net for ideas lots of good ideas available. I plan on having halibut poached in coconut milk and lemon grass . I cant wait!
Talk to you later Randy
Hi Randy,
So, you're using hot sauce too! I guess I should be fine with my Dijon and curry marinades. I can't wait to try melba toast. Toast has been the only thing I've had a craving for so far. I just want some when I smell it toasting. Enjoy your halibut - I like fish - if it doesn't smell at all, but it seems pretty hard to buy.

I would try a little bit and see how you feel. Sounds like your doing Great! Big Hugs
Thank you Debra, I feel pretty great, considering surgery was only 12 days ago. I have been blessed with an uneventful and fast recovery. I have to remind myself not to overdo it, or I do get a sore side. I usually feel almost normal, so I really have to remind myself that I'm still healing.
I think I will try a little bit of flavoured chicken - that's all I'm supposed to eat anyway - a little bit - LOL. I am looking forward to Monday and semi-real food and that melba toast crunch.
((( ))) Hugs!

just be careful of anything like seasoning salt..that might end up coming back up....especially if you like to apply these things liberally
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!. Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!
