Hello all, have not posted in some time... bad time of year for me.

Had my surgery in Jan, did ok through that into Feb...then March  hit and I got depressed ....

March is a bad month for me as its my daughters birthday month, but then lost my Dad the 6th of March, daughters bday was 18th..

I just made 3 months post op as of Weds, April 10..... was a good .. bad day for me...

As it was also the 9yr anns. of the death of my only daughter to Cancer, so a rather a bad time for me to say the least....

I find its hard to stay the course some days.... but I am holding on ..... and staying the path.

Find I am doing a lot of shakes, even though clinic would much rather we get protein from food.... can not say eating is a priority most days for me...Have to remind myself to eat/drink shake.

I have been getting in 60 ++ protein a day with the shakes for sure, still working on remembering to get in my vits, the BM issues are wicked with all the Calcium and Prenatal vits...dam.

Know we are not supposed to compare our journeys per our loss,   but we do ...as we are only human after all.

Heading out this am to Guelph for my 3 mth check in. Hoping all goes well and they are happy with the progress.

Wishing everyone a fantastic day this crappy icy Friday ... so much for our spring... and thanks for listening ....

Drive carefully.

This whole process is a good/bad day thing. Keep putting in the work. are you on medication for your depression? Don't discount the value of getting your brain chemicals in order.

You are doing amazing even though you have had a tough time of it.  Wishing you continued success and I hope you are able to get some help dealing with your feelings-I lost my mom and that was tough.  I could never imagine losing a child. I am so sorry.  Have you ever tried Hospice?  They have a wonderful program and it is never too late.

Good luck with rest of your journey!!  Look forward to seeing some pics soon!

Hi Donna,

Congrats on an excellent 3 month weightloss! I am pre-surgery and you give me hope.

Feb and March are difficult months in regard to sunlight deficit...add other factors in and it can be tough. All these darn April showers had better be bringing those May flowers..or we are all gonna be ticked! :)

Take care

Finally home from Guelph, had a few stops to make on the way home...

THANK YOU ALL for the warm words of encouragement. It is always so wonderful to see so many people caring for others and offering support be it on good .. and or bad....days/times.

                               ------------------------------------------------

Well the visit with Nut/Nurse was very uneventful, short and sweet... all happy with my progress to date.

According to their numbers, or expectations for me, I have lost 52% of my excess weight, which is ahead of schedule they say. They gave me a goal of 168 lbs, from my starting weight at the clinic of 280 lbs, EWL (excess weight loss) was set at.112 lbs.  My personal goal of course is 120 - 130  so figure I have lost about 33 % (lost 58 since start at 280.. 45.4 since surgery), or so of my excess that I would like to say bye, bye to (150-160 lbs). Weighed 222 at the clinic, lookout wonderland, here I come....

I am only 5' 2 1/2, so I figure 125 sounds good, mind you my body will dictate where it wishes to stop. It will be what ever it will be.

I had Nut. Nancy ... for those who know her.. I need not say more lol.. I mentioned meat loaf, and she immediately mini freak on WHAT red meat... lol.. so reassured her no it was ground chicken or ground turkey no red meat yet....

..Needless to say I did not inform her that one of my stops on route home was to the local butchers shop to grab some wonderful strip loin, and t-bones... one of which is marinating for dinner tonight. :). I figure I deserve it and ya I know they say no red meat for 6 months at my clinic, and I have been a very very good girl to follow the rules thus far..... and nothing has bothered me as of yet. so I am going go out on a limb and trying a wee bit of red meat tonight. Wish me luck....

                                                 -------------------------------------------------

(Monica M)... I not depressed to need meds,,, I admit I went through pure hell and beyond, the first couple years, and completely hid away from the world,,,, to recovery from my losses.... now it is just a hard time period for me, from mid Jan through till Mothers Day has passed, ****ep it in control as best anyone could with the losses i had in those months.)... thank you for your wonderful concern and support.

(soontobe), Marina, Thank you hun, glad to hear your on your way to the bench, a few steps more :).

(Monica9811).. Thank you for your concern and caring, yes I have gone those routes, :). I had some amazing support to get out of the hell years. Sorry for your lost of your mom. I understand, loosing my mom (she died end of Jan, 9 mths after my daughter) so shortly after my daughter was horrible to say the least, but I think we know our parents will pass and although it is never easy, somehow it is easier to comprehend as time goes on, Loosing a child is SOMETHING you just never truly recover from.... it puts life out of order somehow!!! I am sure you know what I mean.

(Vicky) Thank you, all hugs are much appreciated. I see you are progressing on your journey. :).  Hope to see you this month at the local meeting.

(Monique) Thank you for your concern and for the huge Hug, good luck to you on your Journey. Well be watching for you on the losers bench. :).

(M1randa) Bev, Thank you hun, the next 6 mths or so will be over in no time and you will be joining us all on the bench. :).

Monster Hugs to all...

I'm sorry that it's such a tough time of year for you, Donna.  I hope things start feeling brighter soon.  I'm sure this rotten weather isn't helping much either, although I know it's more than that for you right now.

So weird, what some places let you eat and others don't.  I've been eating red meat since the 9th week.  Not very much, but every once in a while, and more now.  At 3 months, I was definitely eating red meat, whether chili, meatloaf, beef stew, or steak.  But it's good that you're doing what your clinic says for you to do, especially since it seems to be working so well for you.

Those are some amazing results - hope they cheered you up at least a bit! :)

Ty hun, yes the knowledge that I had for their numbers lost half the weight basically they expected was awesome. :).

I am definitely looking forward to better weather .. SOON... opening the pool and getting outside more to let the sunshine and heat get rid of the winter cobwebs.

Hugs Donna
