OMG HEARTBURN... OMG.
Ok, going insane here with severe heartburn... rarely had it prior to surgery ever... can say I had it much since surgery...
But today holy cow, I am suffering like I can not believe....
I had some pills left from when I had my surgery in Jan (Apo-Lansoprazole 30mg) Called my druggist to confirm they were for heartburn like stuff.. he said ok for me to take one.
I have not eaten much as feel like crap...
Had my normal GNC protein shake for breakie, lunch was a Oikos yogurt with honey in bottom and 4 soda crackers, 1/4 glass 1% milk.
It is just THERE... like a fire in my chest and up through my windpipe ... I feel like if I breathed out heavy I would light something on fire....
I am coming up on 5 mths post op.
Any input would be great.. ty all.

I used to suffer from heartburn pre-op but haven't had it at all since surgery. Are you sure that it's not a gallbladder attack? I remember thinking I was having a heart attack pre-surgery and it turned out to be my gallbladder. I know that if you still have your gallbladder that it's common to have attacks post-op.
If it doesn't ease up maybe you should go to emergency and have it checked out.
Hope you feel better soon. Muriel
Hubby had dr Reed and had GERD previous to surgery. Dr reed was a big believer that newly out you sshould not experience heartburn. He said to hubby that if he experienced it, it was a sign that he might be overstuffing his pouch. Could that be the case!? Or could you be experiencing something altogether different ? Gallbladder? Kidney? Appendix?

Ty Muriel and Dawn for replying, I went and lay down for a bit to see if that would help out.... bit better but still there.. just not as severe.
I have no Gallbladder .. gone yrs ago, also same for Appendix.
I have had kidney stones and no that is definitely not it either.
I did have wicked heartburn in hospt. right after surgery which was way, way worst than this.. and as you said Dawn, Dr. Reed felt it was more likely "after surgery burn" than actuall heartburn, it passed after a couple days.
Also not possible that it is stuffed pouch..I rarely eat more than 1/4 cup still, very small pouch, and am very careful of what I eat and when, how much etc...
It is more like it feels like I have a lump and its on fire lol.. know it sounds weird but only way I can explain.. if it is no better I will call Dr. on Monday.. and if it get worst I will go to emerg or after hours clinic for sure..
For now just going to eat some yogurt and drink water :).
Ty both again.

Donna, sorry you are feeling so rotten, but I can't think of what it could be.
