TMI: Opti

Good morning. I`m on my last days of Opti before surgery on Monday. For the first 2 weeks of Opti things were fine. But this past week, I can barely take in 1 shake and when I do it is always followed by a bout of diarrhea. I have no other symptoms of a cold or anything like that. Has anyone else ever experienced something similar. TIA

Sounds like you've started the Opti-Trots.  It's because you aren't taking in enough fiber.  It was suggested that we take 2 Benifiber capsules with each shake to help (I'm pretty sure it was benifiber, someone can jump in and correct me if they want).

If you think of it, liquid in, liquid out.

It`s weird but I looked through the notes that I was given at TWH and I don`t see the recommendation for benifiber. Is this something I can pick up at Shoppers.

I am on Opti too, and I have been taking Metamucil Capsules - I bought the Wal-Mart brand ... so Shoppers would have their own brand as well.  I take two with each shake, it's to help with both diarrhea and constipation.

Thank  you so much!! I`m going to head off to shoppers now - its literally around the corner so I can walk there and see what I can find. 

When is your surgery. Mine is on Monday and I cannot wait!!

Mine is on Thursday - I can't wait either !!!

I found the diarrhea worse if I added flavouring with more sweeteners. So I only added instant coffee. I had the trots from day one

YES!! Now that makes all sense to me. When I added crystal light to the shake it was horrible!! 

I have the opposite problem. Ypeeee.....not.

I'll be at TWH right after you on Tuesday morning. Maybe we can walk and toot together.
