In an attempt to be proactive and not wait until my April 14 nurse meeting, I decided to get my GP to give me a referral to a sleep clinic. I just got the call and it is next Thursday night. EEK! They said I will have the results to give to the nurse at my April 14 meeting which is amazing. I don't want to prolong things!
I decided to do the same thing. I think it's the internist that decides if you need a test? I don't see him until April, but I called my family doctor and got her to send in a referral and I go for my sleep study on feb 20th.
My dad had sleep apnea really bad, so I'm thinking I may have it too. Oh well. If I do, then I'll get some better sleep for a few months before my surgery, I guess!
