When I was admitted to the hospital this past summer for an internal hernia, the ER doc asked me about whether I had thrown up. I said no, but was extremely nauseous. Then she said, that it wasn't suprising as I probably can't throw up easily due to the gastric bypass. Similar to you, I would heave and sort of pass a tiny bit of clear fluid and feel a bit of relief. And indeed, I haven't really thrown up since my bypass well over two years ago...
