TCM and Acupuncture post-op?

I have been going for Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture for over 15 years. I expect that my treatments will have to change, especially herbal remedies. Any advice you can pass along? The owner of the clinic I go to was a surgeon - so I do intend to consult with her directly before continuing with my regular practitioner.
