I learned at the nutrition appointment a while ago that they've cut back the support to one year from five. I am curious- who decided on the cut and who mandated it? It would be interesting to know. Like other commentators and the author here, I think as the years pass, MORE support is needed rather than less - as the initial euphoria wears off and the realities of our new body become commonplace. That is where I feel the psychological aspects really kick in. Thanks for the tips though - I too find this community warm and supportive!
Finally! Hard to find someone who is having it . Ohhh that's such a good idea I'm definitely going to have that on hand too. And okay atleast it's priced better than I thought cause I assume I'll be on for 4 weeks so double that . I wish you the best!!!!
Thanks for the name. Have made a note of it. Question, if you don't mind answering - was this covered by OHIP? Thinking maybe the panniculectomy was but not the abdominplasty? I am being optimistic I know, just started my Slimtime today! 2 weeks today I'll be in surgery! Cannot wait. However, I have lost a LOT of weight before (through other methods - and actually yes, did keep it off for years and years)- and after 4 kids in my 30s in 6 years, then the weight loss, my skin was AWFUL - yards of it! Frankly, will take it to what I am now but looking down the road, I hope to get healthy again and will have to deal with that.
I JUST started it today! I'm on it for 2 weeks - my weight is around 280. It was $126 for two weeks worth and I got half chocolate and half vanilla. Just had my first one - mixed with 2 cubes decaf coffee I had frozen in ice trays with ice and water - it was actually pretty good! Will add double the amount of coffee next time though as it tasted more like malt type chocolate.
Ouch!! That sounds very painful.
And thanks :) I'm hoping to be presentable in a couple days if I take it easy lol.
Also, I think it is totally possible to keep losing past the 1 year mark if you haven't hit your goal. Sometimes the clinic staff just say what happens with the average patient, but posting on here and tracking your menu can be helpful in staying on track :)
Good morning all. Well again I was slacking on posting just because work has been crazy but hopefully I'll get here are few more times this week. I had my 6 month follow-up last Wed and the only thing off on my blood work was Vitamin A so I have to supplement for 3 months. I didn't like to hear that likely weight will come off VERY slow for the next 6 months and then stop at the 1 year mark. I will plug along, add more exercise and keep eating pretty much as I have been in hopes the weight will still continue to drop.
QOTD: I missed the edge of a step coming down the stairs in the arena seating and ended up in a heap against the boards and on the concrete so that was not graceful at all. I dislocated my shoulder and it was broken in 4 spots, that was my first and last fracture I hope! Wishing you a speedy recovery Meg.
B - greek yogurt, blueberries

Ooooh, broken limbs are no fun either... We tend to use those a lot ;)
Thankfully there was no alcohol involved last night, just minor immaturity lol.
Oh no Meg that's terrible! I wiped out in Mexico and broke my wrist. Wasn't a pretty landing and pre weight loss. Definitely lots of alcohol involved. I hope you heal quickly!!
Good morning :)
Well, I did an actual faceplant on my back walkway last night -- possible broken nose and concussion. So we had a visit at the hospital and I will probably be doing a soft/liquid diet today.
Accountability: okay. Definitely didn't feel like eating after my fall.
QOTD: this is definitely my worse fall ever. Any other super graceful people/incidents? DH says I need to come up with a better story. We were goofing around and I was running to our backdoor when I tripped. I will be hiding in my house for a while until it heals a bit.
Post-op four years and two months.
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - maybe carrots and PB... Or just a yogurt cup
Lunch - leftover butter chicken
Snack - cheese
Dinner - going to vote for curried chickpeas
Snack - SF pudding
All water and vits.
Thank you to all the ladies who made the effort to come out today. I was a beautiful day so the temptation to be outside was high!!! We donated 10 large bags to charity at the end of it all!!! Next exchange will be on November 17, 2019. Place TBD.
