I am having an affair with my crockpot. Shh!

Thanks for your thought! I've been eating chicken that I've cooked and then munch up in my food processor since week 3 - the beginning of my pureed stage. I think I'm going to try the shredded chicken and see how it goes. The part in my giant binder of info on the soft food stage is a little...vague on the texture of the meat.

I think the shredded chicken in the crockpot will be fine as long as you chew, it has worked great for me and is SO MOIST!

I am/was in the same boat as you with getting bored with food stages and the crockpot allows you to get flavor and soft foods in and its delicious! I am a huge advocate of putting a ton of veggies in the crockpot and seasoning them with different marinades and then just putting in whatever meat you want. YUM!

I have done beef stew and roast in the crock pot.  I used the lipton onion soup mix.  Y'all have given me more ideas.

One of my favorite things to do is roast a whole chicken in the crock pot.  It's SUPER easy and yields both an amazingly juicy bird and delicious chicken stock for cooking purposes.  Here's my recipe -- Slow Cooker Chicken with Crispy Skin

Do you just poor the mixes in the crockpot with the roast and then add the beef broth or do you mix them with a liquid before putting them on the roast. Also do you put foil falls on the bottom before the chuck roast goes in? this sounds YUMMY!

I just put the broth in, then the mixes and mix those all up, then put the beef in and coat it. I do not use any foils.
