Nausea after taking protein shakes, any suggestions??

Are you mixing them with milk? If you are, try mixing them with almond milk or water. You might be lactose intolerant now. Also make sure that the protein powder is lactose free. If the ingredients list whey concentrate, it contains lactose. Whey isolate is lactose free. It should say somewhere on the label 99% lactose free. Also, drinking it too fast can cause nausea.
I was nauseous on and off for about a month after surgery. Try drinking slower... and yes try without milk if you are using it.

try different temps (cold vs. warm). sometimes warm settles better. also I had to sip them very slowly and I still got nauseous. thin them down a bit with water. I use the Inspire protein powder that mixes with water (6 to 8 ounces for 20 gms of protein) so the volume is less and they are thin. it will get better. hang in there!
