Good morning all. Work has been hectic this week so I haven\'t had time to be online much. I\'m sorry for missing the QOTD yesterday. So let\'s see what I can come up with for this a.m. 1) Have you noticed since you started losing weight that people treat you differently? If so, good or bad, in what ways? 2) What has been your favorite WLS moment? 3) How do you deal with negative comments about your WLS? Or have you had any at all? 4) How much water do you drink per day? If you don\'t drink water - what other fluids do you intake? 5) How much protein do you get in a day? 6) What carbs do you allow yourself, if any at all? Have a wonderful Wednesday! Cheryl

1) Have you noticed since you started losing weight that people treat you differently? If so, good or bad, in what ways? HELL YES! ! ! ! People that wouldn't talk to me before are talking to me now.. One lady in particular has asked me to lunch a couple of times and this time last year she wouldn't speak to me and I coached her son.. Needless to say I haven't been to lunch with her.. LOL.. I treat people differently but in a good way I think.. I put carts up at the store, I help people with stuff that last year at this time I wouldn't have given it a second thought.. 2) What has been your favorite WLS moment? I actually have two.. One is when my grandfather lay dying he made the comment to my grandmother that I looked good.. Cancer was eating up his body and he was talking about how good I looked.. RIP Gramps.. The others all have to do with things that I have been able to do with the "little fools" like jumping on the trampoline, running, and riding bikes.. 3) How do you deal with negative comments about your WLS? Or have you had any at all? I have had a few.. Like I cheated to lose weight.. I say well screw it then.. Because I just cheated to live.. and if you call walking 25 miles a week cheating well so be it.. 4) How much water do you drink per day? If you don\'t drink water - what other fluids do you intake? I try to get in a gallon or more.. I know that is a lot but I work hard at it.. The docs told me to get in as much as I could.. I also drink the knock off crystal light from Wally world.. 5) How much protein do you get in a day? I just started protien drinks so I was getting all my protien from food.. 6) What carbs do you allow yourself, if any at all? I do allow myself to have a few "CHEAT"OS occasionally and other than that I have done well to stay away from breads, pasta, and sweets.. I know I will stop losing soon so I need to get to goal before I do anything stupid.. LOL PEACE 464/409/234/214

1.) Do ppl treat me differently? OMG YES...especially MEN. Guys that used to act like I didnt exist all of a sudden speak to me like we are old pals. I also notice that I get better help at stores, restraunts, and bars. 2.) My fave weightloss moments - my nephew noticing I have bones...a student commenting that I am on my way to being a supermodel 3.) I havent had any negative comments yet thank goodness 4.) Okay during Lent I was doing so well on water 8-9 glasses a day...after Lent...I suck...back to the diet dr. peppers again...I need to fix that 5.) I dont really count my protein but I try to always eat it first so I think Im doing ok with it 6.) I know I probably get too much carbs...the tortilla at breakfast that I put my sausage and egg in ...chex mix (thats a weakness) Only 79 lbs to goal and I seem to not be losing anymore I need to take all these questions to heart and fix everything.. I am pretty new, only 4 1/2 weeks out, but here goes: 1. I haven't lost enough yet for it to be extremely noticable. 2. I would have to say coming back to work after 3 weeks and having people comment that they could tell my face looked slimmer. I didn't think anyone would notice any loss at all. 3. I haven't had any negative comments yet. Everyone has been very supportive, even at work. Of course, not too many people would lip off to a 6'2 450lb man! 4. This is something I am trying to focus on now as I don't think I am getting enough. I have a 12 oz protein shake in the morning, then 54oz of crystal light while at work, then at least another 10-20oz in the evening. This is getting easier so hopefully I will continually be able to increase it. Dehydrating is one of my panic spots right now! 5. I don't know exactly, but my protein shake in the morning has about 21 grams, then I usually snack on a cheese stick with 7 grams, cottage cheese, and pureed soups (I am still on purees). Last night I added tuna salad to my diet, so that should help me get a little more in also. 6. Very few. I am still on purees and haven't cheated on anything sweet (I am extremely paranoid of dumping/vomiting). I have never really been a "sweets" person, so I don't miss that and the s/f popsicles and pudding do more than enough to satisfy any craving I might have. Where I do see issues is in the pastas and breads, I would love to be able to have some of those, but haven't yet. Thanks for the questions Cheryl! 1.) Have you noticed since you started losing weight that people treat you differently? If so, good or bad, in what ways? Ironically I noticed this recently. today I am 75 lbs down and 90 since June! I have always been friendly but I noticed ppl are extra talkative!! Even some telling me TMI LOL 2) What has been your favorite WLS moment? I have many but the most recent was when I saw I am smaller than my always skinny sister!!! 3) How do you deal with negative comments about your WLS? Or have you had any at all? None at all for me!! 4) How much water do you drink per day? If you don\'t drink water - what other fluids do you intake? I only get 40-50 oz in I need to get 80 oz. I am working on it. 5) How much protein do you get in a day? WE are told to eat it first but do not worry about how much soooo I am not sure. 6) What carbs do you allow yourself, if any at all? Occasional chip and salsa, popcorn and cracker or 2.Every now and then cooked potatoes.

Hi there ! Dont forget, you have to answer these too ! Good Questions...I like these good motivators !!! 1) I definatly notice that I get more looks & smiles and hellos from men, now if I can just accept that they arent looking at me in disgust I will be ok ! 2) WOW ! I think there are so many right now, but wearing a size 12, being under 200 and fitting in a booth were some of the best moments ever. Seeing a very old, dear friend also was very special, I knew that I knocked his socks off by the smile on his face and the look in his eyes ! He is awesome and loved me anyway I was but I cant help but snicker and think Now he may wonder what he missed out on !! lol 3) I get some negative response from jealous people, but I just reinforce that this was a tough decision but I did it for health and myself and I have no regrets. I do get tired of hearing about how so and so had this surgery years ago and now are as big or bigger than before....first of all, I know for a fact they didnt have this surgery in the 70's and secound, stomach stapling definatly isnt the same thing as RNY ! It infuriates me and I let them know that really quick ! 4) I only only drink water ! I may on occassion have some unsweetened tea, but that is very rare even. Water is the staple of my drinking and I drink at least 80 ounces a day ! Preferably with limes ! 5) I get all protein from food, I really dont get a count, but so far I think I have done well on that aspect. I do eat the endulge atkins carmel peanut bars for snacks, and they have 9 grams ! ( good, you should try them everyone !) 6) I really do watch the carbs but I do eat them if that makes sense. I just try not to go over board. I try to limit my intake, by choosing protein for snacks more than something with carbs, that way I can have those carbs at meal times. Like I may have 1/2 tortilla, or some cassarole and I do love the little 4 packs of peanut butter crackers for breakfast too....sooo, I do eat carbs, but not just overboard on them. I dont eat alot of sweets, breads ( other than tortillas on occassion) and I think that helps too. But again, I do LOVE chips and crackers and I have to really watch those or I could go over board easily !! Have a great hump day !!! Jen 340/175.5/???

Cheryl, Didn't miss your post, cuz I was busy myself..... 1. People don't treat me any differently...everyone I know say they never noticed me being big....that the only thing they saw was my personality.... 2. The other day, my napkin fell on the floor. My mother and I were eating in Addison and I placed the napkin between my two toes and brought it to my hands. My mom just laughed and said...you wouldn't have been able to do that a couple of years ago.....I told her that was definitely a WLS moment 3. The only negative comment I get is from my boss when he says "ever since you've had that surgery, you're sick all the time". I'm not sick all the time....He'll walk by my desk and I'll have my hand on my head....not because of pain, but because of concentration....I have a pillow on my chair (because I lost my butt and don't have any meat on it)...and I'll squirm a little and he has to comment on it. I just blow him off.....no not that way..... 4. I don't drink water....but I drink Tea ALL DAY LONG. I figure I get in about 80 oz a day. 5. I love meat....so protein isn't a problem for me. I don't know how much I get in. I eat a couple of pieces of bacon for breakfast, today I have a chicken thigh and tonight I'll have a salad which chicken strips and boiled eggs. 6. I eat a lot of carbs to keep up my weight. You have a beautiful day, Cheryl. T

GOODMORNING EVERYBODY, GREAT QUESTIONS CHERYL, 1-I GET TREATED BETTER, ESPECIALLY FROM MEN, BUT PEOPLE THAT WOULDN`T EVEN TALK TO ME BEFORE, ARE TALKING AND NOTICING ME NOW. I SAY LET THEM EAT THEIR HEARTS OUT. LOL LOL! 2-WHEN TWO LADIES IN A REST ROOM, WERE TALKING ABOUT THEIR DIETS. I WAS WASHING MY HANDS QUIETLY, AND THEY TURNED AND SAID TO ME, YOU PROBABLY HAVE NEVER HAD TO DIET IN YOUR LIFE, AS TINY AS YOU ARE, SO YOU WOULD NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS, UNDERSTAND WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT. BOY, DID I HAVE A STORY TO TELL THEM. 3-I HAD SOMEBODY TELL ME I LOST WEIGHT, THE EASY WAY. YEAH RIGHT! 4-I DON`T DRINK ENOUGH WATER AND THE AMOUNT CHANGES EVERY DAY. 5-I GET ANYWHERE FROM 60 T0 100 GMS. OF PROTEIN IN DAILY, I DO 3 PROTEIN SHAKES A DAY, PLUS WHATEVER I GET IN OTHER FOODS. 6-I DO EAT CARBS, BUT I LIMIT THEM. I EAT ANYTHING I WANT TO, BUT IN SMALL AMOUNTS. Men comment on how good I look and I get compliments all the time. 2) What has been your favorite WLS moment? Being able to ride a horse! 3) How do you deal with negative comments about your WLS? Or have you had any at all? Haven't had any at all! 4) How much water do you drink per day? If you don\'t drink water - what other fluids do you intake? Not as much as I should. I drink Crystal Light. 5) How much protein do you get in a day? Usually about 60 with my protein drinks. 6) What carbs do you allow yourself, if any at all? A few crackers.
