Sick...any advice? Anyone go through this?

So for the past few nights, I haven't been sleeping well, and having a little tummy ache after I ate (no matter what it was)... Well starting yesterday (sorry TMI!) I started getting gross, painful diarrhea, and thought maybe the sugar alcohols in all my crystal lite peach tea was to blame...but I felt something coming on... Ive been nauseous all day, no matter what I try to eat, or drink, and of course i will be going to the er lating in the morning because I know I'm dehydrated...but I woke up 2 hours after falling into a restless sleep, and had a 101.7 temp....

I'm going to wait a few hours to call my surgeon, I really don't want to wake him up when there's no way I'm getting out right now with this ice on the roads!

Oh I forgot to mention that even drinking water is making me nauseous...I cut out everything else, and am forcing myself to drink the water anyway.

Does this sound like the right decision? Sound familiar?

Thanks in advance!!!

Oh P.S. I'm down a total of 44 lbs! Woohoo! Even though I'm not feeling well, I can still rejoice in that!

Sorry I don't have any advice to offer but I'm glad you're going to the ER and calling your surgeon.  Doesn't sound good and I pray it's just a bug and not a complication.  Keep us posted & feel better. Congrats on the 44 lbs!  That is awesome.  You're doing amazing!!

Hugs,

Kim,
My kiddos have this right now, the doctor said it is a stomach bug and could last for 18 days.  Because of the fever my kids ran she did start a low dose antiboiotics...
Call your doctor and see what they suggest...good luck

Kim,
Sorry you are feeling YUKKY.  I work at an elementary school and this type of "bug" is going around big time.  BUT, I'm glad you are calling your doc and let him decide what is going on.  While you are waiting for this ice to melt (I'm in Arlington...bad here, too), can you try to eat some ice chips?  It might be a little easier on your tummy than water and will at least get a little fluid in you.

Hang in there and let us know how you are doing.

Kim since you are running a fever I would say you have a bug and it is not your surgery related unless you have some kind of infection.    It wont hurt you to go to the ER if it doesn't cost you a bunch of money.    Hope you feel better real soon !!!

It's going around the hospital (where I work) like crazy.  Most people say it lasts 4-6 days.  Congrats on the weight losss, you're kicking butt!!

I had this bug between xmas and new years.  5 days of this crap (literally) before I started feeling like a human being.

If you feel like you need to, call Dr. Nick. If not, stay hydrated and veg.
