Yep, I bought her a .380 for personal defense. She is planning on taking a concealed handgun class here in the next few months.

I too believe that if you teach kids to respect firearms and let them experience them it takes away the "novelty" have kids wanting to "mess" with them. I never attempted to get guns out when I was growing up because I was taught to respect them. I have also taught my son the same. He currently has several rifles andpistols of his own.
