Stricture

Well, I just got  home from another admission to the hospital. I went yesterday to the ER because I have still been having trouble drinking and progressing my diet. My DR did a Endoscopy yesterday and found that I did in fat have narrowing at the incisura. Basically your sleeve is shaped like a bananna and the curve part was starting to fold. So they dilated it and now we are keeping our fingers crossed that this is the only time I will need this done.
I have never been comfortable eating after my surgery, but with the problems I have had (which I think are minor compared to some others) I would do it again in a heartbeat. We all know the risks when we decide to have the surgery. Some people heal and live the rest of their life witout a problem. Some of us run into some road blocks. It is just like getting in a car anything can happen once you start driving. So yes I still LOVE my sleeve!!!

Hopefully the first time is a fix! If you wouldn't mind, would you share what led you realize that you had developed a stricture?

Thanks,
Jo

until Cano answers...

nausea, fatigue oh and foamies...but best known symptom =.inability or gradual inability to hold even liquids down..like a clogged drain...nothin can get through eventually, everythin backs up...the dialation mildly stretches the pyloric canal opened..where its narrowed because of scar tissue/adhesions

My Dr said only 5% of us who have the surgery will develope a stricture. My symptoms were nausea, unable to drink or eat anything without getting nausea. Unable to progress with my diet. I was still on mushies/soft food at 6 weeks out.
I will say one thing. I am trying to eat baked ricotta right now. and I can definatly tell the difference. I am getting so full, so fast. I guess because the food actually goes threw without getting stoped. I am eating less than before to feel full. I guess that is a good thing.
